 Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4, 1954. O'Hara has won numerous awards, including the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) and two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In the year 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. Then, in 2020, she was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara began her career as an actor in 1974, when she was in The Second City, an comedy troupe that improvised in Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara and Candy began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara won the Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for Outstanding Writing for Variety Series. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
